Cover with paper: Apply adhesive to one side of the slide mount (I use a stick glue ), making sure the glue is placed along all the edges and around the window. Place the slide mount, glue side down, onto the backside of a piece of paper. Use an X-acto knifeĀ® to trim around the outside edges and the window. Voila!
Direct to paper inking: This is easy! Place the slide mount on a piece of scrap paper. Press a rubber stamping inkpad directly onto the white side of the slide mount. Tap it to get a light coverage or press hard and rub for a more opaque look.
Chalk: Use your finger to rub chalk directly onto the slide mount. Start with a little color, then add more. You can do just one color, or start with a dark chalk color and add lighter tones on top.
Use metal: Use a hole punch, then insert eyelets or brads in the holes.
Walnut Ink: Walnut Ink comes in crystal form; mix it with water, then paint, spritz, spatter, stipple or sponge it onto the slide mount for a vintage look.
Fibers: Ink, chalk or cover the slide mount with paper, then wrap fibers around one side of the slide mount, securing loose ends on the backside.
